Ewan Gegg Produces Record-Breaking Performance For Dumbleton CC

When your groundsman scores 206* .... You have to brag a little!

At Willow Turf Care, we’re all about producing quality cricket wickets… but every now and then one of the team goes and produces something even more special.

Last night, our very own Ewan Gegg played one of the most extraordinary innings you’ll ever see, smashing an unbeaten 206 from just 55 balls, including 13 fours and 23 sixes, for Dumbleton CC in the Varistha Premier T20 competition.

His incredible innings helped Dumbleton post a staggering 417-2 from 20 overs and has already been making waves across social media and some of the biggest cricket platforms in the country.

There’s an added twist to the story. As part of his role with Willow Turf Care, Ewan regularly helps prepare and maintain cricket squares for clubs across Gloucestershire, including Hatherley & Reddings CC. Last night they found themselves on the receiving end of one of the most remarkable T20 innings you’re ever likely to see! Fair play to Hatherley & Reddings, who congratulated Ewan afterwards with plenty of good humour, joking that “the man who whacked us all over the park is also our groundsman!”

Needless to say, we’re all pretty proud!

Anyone who knows Ewan knows his love for cricket doesn’t stop when he walks off the field. Whether he’s opening the batting or preparing wickets with the Willow Turf Care team, he brings the same energy, attention to detail and passion for the game into everything he does.

Working alongside Richie Woodmason and Chris Calcott, Ewan has become a key member of the Willow Turf Care team, helping clubs across Gloucestershire, The Cotswolds and the South West produce high-quality playing surfaces that players genuinely enjoy performing on.

It’s not every day your groundsman scores a double century in a T20, but it’s another reminder that our team isn’t just passionate about cricket—we live and breathe it.
